Returning to pure, gestural abstraction, these 'sketches' were the starting point for something much bigger and bolder. Within these works I can feel my practice shifting... much looser, less inhibited and full of adrenaline. 

These were actually test pieces, designed to get into the flow and allow myself to experiment, but I adore them! It’s the art I always want to create - scrappy, energetic, bright and utterly free.
