Everything Can Wait: Losing Yourself in the Things You Love

Everything Can Wait: Losing Yourself in the Things You Love

Sometimes you need to disappear into something for a while.

Everything Can Wait was the first painting I created after six long weeks away from my studio, and once I started, it became a bit of an obsession.

Whenever I spend a long time away from painting, there’s always that little voice that creeps in...

What if I’ve forgotten how to do it?

Which is ridiculous, obviously. But apparently my brain likes to convince me that six weeks away from a paintbrush is enough to completely forget everything I know. 😉

And then I started painting.

Everything else disappeared

This piece just flowed.

I became completely absorbed in the colour, the marks, the movement and that brilliant feeling of not really knowing exactly where a painting is going, but trusting it anyway.

Hours passed.

The jobs could wait. The washing could wait. The emails could definitely wait.

For that little pocket of time, everything could wait.

And that became the name of the painting.

Because Everything Can Wait is about those rare moments when you become so completely absorbed in something you love that the rest of the world seems to disappear for a while.

Colour that refuses to sit quietly

And this one certainly doesn't sit quietly.

Bold cornflower blue, electric pinks and flashes of orange collide across the piece, layered with softer, quieter moments that give all that colour somewhere to breathe.

It’s energetic and expressive, but there’s a real sense of optimism to it too.

The kind of artwork that doesn't just fill an empty wall, it changes how the whole room feels.

It’s made for a space that deserves to feel alive.

A reminder for your walls

I talk a lot about finding your pink, and I don't literally mean the colour.

For me, it's about finding the things that make you feel most like you. The things you can lose hours doing. The things that bring back a part of yourself that sometimes gets buried underneath work, family, responsibilities and everything else demanding your attention.

Everything Can Wait feels like a perfect expression of that.

A reminder hanging on your wall to make time for whatever lights you up.

To get carried away. To lose track of time. And every now and then, to decide that the rest of the world really can wait.

A limited edition

Everything Can Wait is available as a strictly limited edition of just 25:

20 fine art paper prints
5 canvas prints

Each edition is individually numbered, signed by me and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, so you're buying something genuinely limited.

Once all 25 are gone, they’re gone.

And considering this painting began with me wondering whether I'd forgotten how to paint, I think that's quite a lovely ending. 💖
